Just looking at this Montrose-area place might give you cavities. The chocolate bar deals in all things cocoa, and does so with a sense of humor. Several varieties of chocolate in novelty shapes are available, as well as kitschy gift items, including doggie chocolates. The Texas Frito Brittle, a mix with chocolate, Fritos, pretzels and pecans - has been featured on the Food Network. The cake (expensive, but with slices big enough to share) and ice cream are particularly decadent. The Village location is a little bit more spacious than the intimate Chocolate Bar outpost on W. Alabama.
Jeff Bridges' character, known as The Dude, drinks nine White Russians -- his signature cocktail -- throughout the course of cult classic film The Big Lebowski. Whether you consider the cocktail to be... More »
I say "cold dessert," you probably say "ice cream!" If, however, you've eaten your fill of sundaes, cones and milkshakes this summer, there are other (near) subzero confections available in H-town. ... More »
Fittingly, July is National Ice Cream Month. Finally! A national food holiday/month that makes at least a modicum of sense. And because it's National Ice Cream Month, this week's list will round up i... More »
In 2010, I had a grand ol' time scouring Houston for outstanding pumpkin dishes. One year later I'm older, definitely not wiser, and still in love with orange squash. So from now until Thanksgiving ... More »
It's hard to explain how far The Chocolate Bar's frozen hot chocolate, the Chocolatta, exceeded my expectations. I could use words like "rich," "decadent," "sinful," and still, you'd have no idea wha... More »
With flavors like Chocolate Banana Pudding and Brownie Supreme, the aptly named The Chocolate Bar is a chocoholic's paradise. Try the Candylicious Junkyard, which takes six classic candy bars and mixes them into a luscious white chocolate ice cream, transforming them into the ultimate nostalgic treat. The most popular choice is the Creamy Dreamy Truffle, which blends chocolate truffles into an exquisitely velvety chocolate ice cream. It will delight your palate with an intriguing mix of... More »
There's a reason that The Chocolate Bar has a reputation as a chocoholic's heaven. From the dozens of flavors of chocolate ice cream to the endless choices of chocolate pies (and hot chocolate to put your grandma to shame), there's something here for everybody. As long as they like chocolate, that is. But the enormous, multilayered cakes stand out here, glistening in their cases like a fever dream brought on by too many viewings of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Although a slice of the... It's not easy to make high-society, grown-up types look like, well, kids in a candy store, but these sweet slingers manage to pull it off. The Chocolate Bar offers tasty, original-recipe ice cream and cakes along with chocolate-covered everything; and Candylicious sells a variety of traditional and wacky confections, from jelly beans to a plunger sucker that you dip in a toilet filled with candy sprinkles. On any given night you can see both kiddos and just-out-of-the-office types drooling... More »
The Chocolate Bar The Chocolate Bar has chocolate-covered ice cream, chocolate-covered fruits (the bananas are to die for), chocolate-covered potato chips, popcorn, fortune cookies and nuts. There's even chocolate-covered chocolate -- but let's not get greedy. This Montrose-area sweetery has doubled in size since opening four years ago. No longer do you squeeze into the little shop, almost dizzy from the delicious scents wafting out of the chocolate factory behind the counter. Now there's... More »

They had so much chocolate 2 choose from. You can even design your own chocolate Yummy!!!
This is a chocoholic's dream. I have known people to spend $50-100 per visit! Recommend you do NOT go in there hungry or with a lot of spare cash. You will walk out poorer and quite a few pounds heavier. If you do not find a chocolate that tickles your fancy there is a candy shop just down the strip. The Chocolate Bar has a wide selection of cakes, cookies, truffles, brownies, ice cream, and dipped treats. There is something for everyone.
