Description

This Heights eatery is housed in one of the cute bungalows that defines the old neighborhood with doors that open to let fresh air in when the weather is good. They serve the standard Cajun and Creole dishes that Gulf Coast natives love - gumbo, jambalaya, boudin, etc. In addition to all the Louisiana grub, there's old and new school comfort food like fried green tomatoes and fish tacos. Big Mamou also offers traditional American breakfasts, as well as beignets. Unlike some other parts of the Heights, they're allowed to serve beer and wine.
