After this spot's long run as the Atrium Bar & Grill, new owners took it over, cleaned it up and made it into a respectable neighborhood watering hole called the Bar. As the name might imply, it's a no-frills joint where pretty much anyone is welcome. While the bar on the south side of the building is the main focus during the week, the other half of the location is a decent music venue that brings in blues, jazz and rock acts on the weekends. The kitchen serves build-your-own cold sandwiches and a small selection of hot sandwiches, as well as homemade soup in the colder months.
Since it opened two years ago in the former home of the Atrium, the Bar has earned a reputation as not just a community watering hole, but a place with a very broad definition of community. This was a... More »

I like to visit my sisters in Denver a few times a year. This year we stumbled upon this Great neighborhood bar. We liked it so much we plan on going every time I come to town. I'm only sad they get to go more often. The people there were so friendly and the food was amazing. Eventually when I finally move back home it will definately be the place I hang out! Great place guys I totally recommend this place.
The Bar is a seriously great hang-out spot. Try D's Birthday drink! The guys running this place are good fun and have created a cool, chill, laid-back neighborhood spot. Clean with a comfortable style where anyone could feel welcome. I have had a couple of yummy hot sandwiches here too. See you there!
Event Review: My Teenage Angst
Seriously, this is funny funny funny. I have been to this event/show a couple of times and it really is everything you could dream it to be and more. I laughed so hard it hurt! The best part is that some of the readers read at multiple events. So, while each reading is hilarious by itself you also get to know the "characters" in their journals in subsequent readings. Don't miss this - it's good stuff.
Looking through your old journals can be fun, but reading from them while you're on stage in front of a room full of strangers somehow makes the experience incredibly awesome. From first-period nightmares to tales of selling kids fake LSD, the true stories keep spilling out during the monthly My Teenage Angst, each one more painfully true than the next. Host and organizer Megan Nyce sets the tone by kicking off each installment with a revealing chapter from her own teenage diaries, as well... More »
