One of Capitol Hill's neighborhood standbys, The Bagel Deli is a place you stop by for a sandwich after your tango/tai chi lesson downstairs or where you can while away a half-hour with a cup of herbal tea and a toasted everything bagel, sitting by the window and looking down (figuratively, of course) at the hipsters filing into Smith. The bagels are much better than the bagel sandwiches, which can get overloaded with sprouts and squirt cream cheese and tomato juice out that central hole. Take a half-dozen, with a half-pint of schmear, home.
