Description

Pancakes have certain curative powers: to quell hunger, to soothe a broken heart over a gossipy brunch, and to help soak up the toxins from a legendary evening. They hold within their tenderly crusted surfaces a warm, buttery center of comfort that recalls one's childhood security blanket. For your money, the most reliably tasty pancakes are found at the hipster diner the Bad Waitress. One can certainly find fancier pancakes around town-more creative, more organic, more traditional-but none are more consistent and substantial than those at the Bad. These breakfast miracles are a weekly staple for many patrons, and their seasonal pancake recipes are especially noteworthy. A rotating cast of characters has included pumpkin cakes reminiscent of a subtle pound cake and a cherry chocolate-chip combo that went down like a happy, melty, sweet-tart accident. When in doubt, stick with the blueberry; stacked high to overflowing, they are nearly divine.

Food is ok, just can't go here out of principle. Tipping someone ahead of time who only buses your food out is basically saying you don't care about the good service you recieve elsewhere (not that its bad here). And as far as its quirky uptown vibe, believe me, I get it...what uptowners don't get is that servers aren't entitled. They are supposed to "earn" your tips. Also, its not fun to newcomers, its just confusing and seems a bit fraudulent.

One of the best place to eat in Minneapolis. Great concept for a restaurant and a great uptown location. If you have a chance to eat at this fun Diner I would 100% recommend it.
