Description

Underappreciated in its off-the-beaten-path location, this lovely New American food temple is polished enough for the well-heeled set, but it's also down-to-earth and casual enough for those who have just come off a mountain trail. The barkeeps and servers pour luscious wines that won't flatten your wallet, while the stylishly executed, ever-changing menu draws from local farms producing seasonal ingredients to deliver full-flavored dishes such as curried hummus; hand-cut, open-face ravioli scattered with pork; and grilled rainbow trout with roasted new potatoes and heirloom tomatoes. The nightly prix fixe, four-course tasting menu is a steal, as are the hands-on cooking classes, which include supplies, lunch and a Terroir gift certificate in the cost of tuition.
