Located in a strip mall at Baumgartner and Lemay Ferry roads, Tequila Mexican Restaurant in south county offers typical Mexican fare with a few added touches. Appetizers include a quesadilla rellena - a tortilla stuffed with cheese meat and beans - and nachos Tequila - crunchy chips topped with cheese, beef, chicken, beans, lettuce, tomato and sour cream. Tequila also offers meals wrapped up from the grill, such as their burrito al carbon, stuffed simply with steak or chicken and covered with cheese, and a monster burrito - a large tortilla overflowing with steak or chicken, beans, rice and grilled veggies, all covered in cheese sauce. In addition to numerous chicken and steak entrées, Tequila also offers traditional combination plates, with various taco, tamale, enchilada and burrito options, many served with refried beans and rice. The tortillas and salsas are made by hand in the kitchen, and Thursday night entertainment is provided by patrons filled up enough to step up to the karaoke stage.
