Ten Bells Tavern may be the perfect neighborhood pub. They pour solid pints of beer, serve great bar food and have an unassuming patio where you can drink to the setting sun. You can get Buffalo wings anywhere, and they will likely come with processed blue cheese and pale celery. Here the dip is played up with chunks of delicious moldy cheese and the strands of celery are crisp and edible. If fish and chips are your thing, don’t skip them here. The kitchen subs flounder for traditional cod, but the resulting dish is delicious. Not all that hungry? Grab a pickled egg. The selection changes with the seasons, but if the curry version is available it’s a must-order. The English were definitely on to something, and Ten Bells Tavern carries that torch.

I love this place. I've been living in the Bay Area the past few years, and coming here reminds me of some of my favorite haunts, as well as having it's own distinctive Texas vibe.
The food was great, the service was great, and I would recommend this place to just about anyone I know.
Great place to invite friends to and brag about how Oak Cliff ain't so bad! Love this place and the atmosphere, all the different beers to try....shall I go on? They also offer TabOut (free app you can watch your tab and pay when you want to leave without having to wait for your server). Ten Bells Rocks!!
Because you're tired of deviled eggs, that's why. Sure, you loved them when your mom made them at home to bring to picnics and tailgates. You loved them when they appeared on a bar menu all retro-like, too, but now that seven versions are sold at every Southern-fetishizing soul food and gastro-whatever in Texas, the snack is in danger of jumping the shark forever. Pickled eggs possess everything deviled eggs lack, with a vinegary brightness and old-school appeal that's right at home on Ten... More »
