It's true: The hot dogs here are out-of-the-world terrific: Plump and juicy and cooked just right; crispy on the outside and moist and meaty on the inside. The brats are beautiful and just as yummy, and both are served on fluffy white buns served toasted or plain. But we have to admit that we go to this New York-native-owned eatery as much for the dogs as for the sides, especially the French Fries, because we can order them with gravy, which is a real rarity on this side of the country. We love the memorabilia-filled walls as much as we love the White Hot, a sauerkraut-and-mustard charmer that's our favorite. Ted's is a wienie wonderland!

Some people think hot dogs are meant to be eaten only at a ballgame or a backyard barbecue — but those folks obviously haven't been to Ted's Hot Dogs. Too bad they don't know what they're missing. These charcoal-broiled wienies are plump and smoky, tucked into fresh, soft buns that are just sturdy enough to hold up under whatever toppings we might be craving, from relish, onions, and mustard to chili and cheese. Whenever we're in the vicinity of Ted's, just the thought of sinking our teeth into one of these beauties is enough to make us stop by for a snack. Add some homemade onion rings and a chocolate shake, and we'll call it one of the best meal deals in town.
If I ever have a craving for a good hot dog..and I mean GOOD.. then I always come to Ted's! Nothing can compare to the quality of their meat with the combination of the complementing toppings. If you love wieners, you'll love Ted's. ;)

Ted's Hot Dogs started as a hot dog cart run by a Greek immigrant named Theodore "Ted" Spiro Liaros in western New York. Today, there are nine Ted's hot dog shops -- eight in western New York and one in Tempe, run by the current president of Ted's, Spiro Liaros, Theodore's son. Lucky us. Ted's is a diner without the frills but with plenty of trimmings for your crisp, juicy hot dog and crunchy, sweet corn dog, both cooked before your eyes. The price is right, too: We ate well for under $5,... More »
