Description

Taverna Opa offers some of the best traditional and innovative Greek/Mediterranean food for your buck. Inside, small plates of meze ($6 to $19) are available for sharing because your dinner company is as important as the food. That is, if you can part for a moment with the moist ladolemono lamb ribs (that melt like butter off the bone) or tender pan-seared quail over roasted red peppers. Waiters first bring fresh, warm bread and a garlic/chickpea-based spread; then they offer olives and wine to start. The Boutari Nemea (“blood of Hercules”) from southern Greece is a decent glass of five-dollar red. Entrées such as the Santorini shrimp, seared with chopped tomatoes and feta cheese over rice, are available along with warm and cold small plates. Sloppy food presentation makes the dishes good rather than great. But after a bite of crisp clove-and-walnut baklava, you’ll forget all about aesthetics.

Tables were filthy, service was horrible and VIP isnt even VIP its more like Trashy VIP. I rather go spend a hundred dollars more somewhere else on a bottle, that people actually treat you the way your supposed to be treated for spending all that money than to spend less and go to this crappy place.

The worst experience ever! It was living a nightmare in real life. First off, it was my boyfriends birthday and I had vip for two bottles. When we get their they seat us in a table in the middle of the dance floor, the table was filthy and you couldn't even hear the server to communicate with them. By the time the server got to our table with the bottles the sparklers were already out. We didn't have time to even take a picture of the bottle with the sparklers. After that they sent us the bill and it was $60 more than what it was supposed to be. I had spoken to the manager, servers and search online all of which said the bottle of Absolute would be $100 when we got their they charged us $125. Think its over? NOPE. By mistake my b/f bumps into a guy and apologizes and continued on to converse with his sister and the guy my boyfriend had bumped into grabbed one of the steel chairs and bashed my boyfriends sister in the head. My boyfriends then pushes the chair away from his sisters head back onto the guy. The guy then comes and hits my boyfriends sister in the back!!!! REALLY???? Where was the security??? No where to be found til the guy got to escape the club the security finally came and removed our whole party of people. In the process my boyfriend lost his phone. They didnt even let us back in to find it. The table I reserved for the WHOLE Night was cleaned and we could not re-enter the club. If it was a table with a couch like regular clubs have for vip all this may have been avoided. The experience just sucked and I hope for no one to waste their money going there.

The overall experience of dining here is so much fun... How many restaurants allow their customers to dance on the tables and throw napkins in the air? Taverna Opa has a great atmosphere and delicious food too!
