Occupying the former premises of the moved-and-then-stiffed Jane Street Seafood Cafe, this instantly popular neighborhood hang specializes in bar food as well as more ambitious fare;but stick with the bar food. Burgers, fish and chips, and an evolved club sandwich made with yellowfin tuna, bacon, and watercress were all exemplary, while an overly herby roast chicken in red wine sauce overreached by a lot. Also check out the special soups: A concoction named five-onion was a delight. Bet you can't guess all five.
