Out south on Broadway, Tavern 13 resides in an Alamo-like Tex-Mex structure, a sort of Southwestern oasis beckoning imbibers off the street. Inside, you'll find a younger crowd sipping on cheap beers (they're even cheaper during Tavern 13's two-for-one happy hour, which also includes wells and wine) and mingling around the pool tables. For a dive bar on this pseudo-desolate stretch of road, it's nice to find a vibrant clientele inside. On some nights, the kids even get some Beirut (or "beer pong," if you prefer) going, throwing ping-pong balls and downing beer after beer in their own little club.
