An Uptown offshoot of the north Denver bar of the same name, Tastes is a tapas and dessert bar that pairs small plates with a large variety of wines. Tuscan crepes and Belgian chocolate truffles are served alongside fondue and a Spanish/Italian antipasto sampler on a worldly menu designed for sharing. The drink selection -- highlighted by monthly wine and Scotch tastings -- is equally extensive and diverse, and the cozy bar also serves a full line of espresso and coffee drinks. The small space has a quiet bar in the back corner ideal for the lone patron, plus groupings of cushy leather chairs for those wishing to meet up and share an appetizer or a bottle. The artwork hanging on the exposed brick walls is always local and always for sale -- you can even purchase the artfully designed tabletops -- and rotates every few months. Situated on East 17th Avenue next to Las Margaritas, Tastes is the perfect pre- or post-night-out spot to grab a panino and a glass or share some cherry-drenched vanilla gelato and a cappuccino.
