One of the few Mexican restaurants in town with its own trompo out on display, Taqueria La Macro specializes in tacos al trompo — pork cooked al pastor-style with a pineapple dripping down onto the meat from the top of the vertical spit. Other Monterrey specials are on the menu, too, such as Pirata tacos with steak, white cheese and avocado slices and Gringa tacos with asadero cheese and beef. Breakfast tacos are available to go if you're in a hurry, but it's more fun to sit in the tidy, well-appointed dining room on North Main in the Heights and enjoy a soccer game over beers in the afternoon.
