A bit of a sleeper in the taqueria genre, La AlteƱa, at the front of the Mission Mercado, does a good job with both traditional tacos and San Francisco burritos. You can get buche (stomach) and tongue tacos and ceviche tostadas, but the reason half of the Mission shows up there after hours is for the al pastor. Slathered in a crimson marinade and roasted on the spit, the pork cooks up juicy, larded with enough fat to crisp up properly. It's great heaped on tacos or folded into burritos, and the meat's spiced up enough that you won't need to make your burrito a super just to give it some flavor.
