This is an abomination! The opening of the Tap Shack is a huge middle finger to family values and our youth. It's appalling that the City of Newport Beach would not only tolerate but condone such debauchery by allowing this place to open.
In an age where electronics rule our lives, where cell phones, iPad's and other devices already interrupt and destroy what little family time or opportunity for an authentic human connection might otherwise exist, whose warped brain(s) could possibly think that a bar masquerading as a "family fun" establishment is exactly what our community has been missing?
The Tap Shack shamelessly invites parents to swipe their credit cards and plop their children down in front of video games(which have been proven to desensitize children to violence and have been linked to Attention Deficit Disorder) so that mom and dad can also escape by numbing themselves with copious amounts of alcohol.
What message does this send to our youth and our community? Let's rethink this one Newport Beach!
