Bigger and brighter than the original Clement Street restaurant (but with slightly shorter hours), this Outer Richmond location features the same Taishanese-style Chinese cuisine of clay pots and rice dishes steamed in lotus leaves. We love the lamb stew, the cauliflower with preserved pork, and even the stir-fried pig intestines. The chicken and mushrooms steamed in lotus leaves was delicate, and the fried salt-and-pepper frog absolutely delicious. This location also has a short menu of more familiar Chinese dishes such as broccoli beef and kung pao chicken, but the reason to come here is to sample the Taishanese specialties. There are photos of many of the most popular dishes, but ask what the posted-in-Chinese specials are; they might include stir-fried greens or sautéed fresh crab.
