Description

To Westerners, this rainbow-hued restaurant, the architectural equivalent of a Chinese teapot, is a typical beef-with-broccoli, almond ding joint. But Koreans will tell you of Tai Ho's second menu, which lists Chinese-Korean favorites like sweet and sour pork, jjampong, and jjajangmyeon. The latter two are the lasagna and spag-n-meatballs of Korea, made with Tai Ho's yard-length hand-pulled noodles. Jjajangmyeon, every child's favorite dish, are thickly coated in a coal-black bean sauce chunky with pork, onions, and zucchini. The (much better) jjampong is a seafood udon soup seasoned by Satan, its demonic red color proof of the fire within each drop. Make sure you're not wearing white when you start slurping.
