The Boulder downtown party crowd divides by age on the weekends, and while a number of college students hit clubs just a block away, Tahona pulls in recent grads still out looking for debauchery but now with the funds to splurge on higher-priced tequilas and expensive drinks. Before the place turns into a dark, lounge-like drinking establishment later in the evening, it attracts a substantial crowd of casual diners, who take down plates of Mexican food while sipping margaritas and looking over Pearl Street from tables lining the elevated patio and spacious dining room. During warm months, the open garage doors give the space a beach-hut vibe; during cold months, the crowds keep the place plenty warm.
