Description
Deposited in what must have once been a garage, Tacombi cultivates a day-at-the-beach aesthetic. Tacos are finished in a real Volkswagen van like the hippies used to drive, the bar looks like a stand on the boardwalk, and the crowds that invade this place late in the evening sit on collapsible furniture, strings of bare bulbs descending from the ceiling like miniature waterfalls. The taquitos are a bit expensive, but good, and the menu also includes tostadas and tamales, too. Featuring eggs, sausages, jalapenos, and avocados, the breakfast tacos are particularly fine, and so are the Baja-style fish tacos, making an hour or two in the garage feel like a day on the Pacific.
