CLOSED Somewhere between down and dirty and hip is where you'll find the Deep Ellum favorite Taco Lounge. Since opening as Sol's Taco Lounge in 1993, this joint has been dishing out Tex-Mex and Mexican standbys such as the beef fajita nachos appetizer, crispy tacos and adobo de puerco. Of course, cheesy enchiladas combos are big. But what has always kept people coming are the tacos. The folks behind the Taco Lounge know what side their tortillas are buttered on. There are turkey tacos, vegetable tacos, the aforementioned hard-shell variety, tacos al carbon and more. Hence, the slight alternation to the name. Don't be disappointed when you find that, contrary to the sign advertising "famous baby tacos," no such menu items exist -- at least not at the Taco Lounge
