Specializing in popular Tex-Mex cuisine, this restaurant, opened in 2008 by Corey McCauley and Jeffrey Kowitz, offers tacos across the spectrum. Among the most popular dishes is the Lester, a combination of soft flour tortilla, a hard shell tortilla, refried beans and sirloin-all for $2.59. The menu, devised by employee collaboration, has no item over $7. Taco Joint's dedication to Texas and the state's folk cuisine is visible in the mural. On it, the Lone Star State's flag fills out the eatery's name, sharing space with the Texas Star.

Tacos! God, I love this place. The portions are huge (I think they put a whole pig on the bacon breakfast taco), and their jalapeno ranch and tomatillo sauces are to die for. They close at 2pm everyday, though.
