There isn't much to Taco Gringos: a SRO shop the size of a walk-in closet. Two white guys, both of whom cooked at Campagne, rocking a tiny burner. Three or four different types of tacos-the kind you find at taco trucks, with just a little meat, chopped onions, cilantro, and salsa-sold at $2 a pop. (The chorizo's great, the chicken's good, the veggie/bean tacos are painfully gringo). They open around 8, they close after the bars do, and if you're drunk and in need of spice, nothing else hits the spot.
Ok, this place is amazing! Maybe it was the late night, food craving I had, but this might be the best tacos I've ever had!
