Come 2:30 a.m., droves of inebriated folks migrate to the Lower Greenville Taco Cabana to fill their beer-bloated bellies with fast-food Tex-Mex. Its 'round-the-clock hours and location conveniently within stumbling distance of several bars makes it an excellent alternative to the Bell or the Bueno, and what it lacks in Doritos Locos tacos, it makes up for in pillowy, always-warm tortillas and a killer self-serve salsa bar. (Just between us, we’ve been known to fill our pockets with tiny plastic containers full of the salsa ranch to stock the home fridge.) Even during daylight hours when most of the clientele tends toward sobriety, the chain does a brisk business supplying chips and queso, flautas, tacos, fajitas, breakfast tacos, burritos and quesadillas via the drive-thru or the modernly appointed dining room. Get there before last call and they’ll even supply you with a margarita.
