Description

T-28 looks like a bare-bones Chinese restaurant, but it's actually a Macanese coffeeshop - Macanese meaning from Macau, a peninsula near Hong Kong that was a Portuguese colony for over 440 years and returned to the Chinese only in 1999. "Portuguese" specialties on the menu often refer to curry sauce, but there's a wide array of inexpensive dishes, from snacks and sandwiches (a "porky" bun refers to the name of the small sandwich roll used; i.e., a spicy sardine porky bun will not contain pork) to many noodle dishes, hot pots, and stir-fries. Some interesting nonalcoholic beverages such as Ribena are available. The place is very busy on weekend mornings.
