Located just off Valley Boulevard, Sweethome Grill is a newcomer in the San Gabriel Valley food scene that’s making a name for itself thanks to its delicious beef noodle soups and skewers. Their grilled meats on a stick are seasoned with spices with a heavy Northern Chinese bent, like cumin and spicy chilies. At roughly $1 per skewer, prices are absurdly cheap. And don’t be deterred by the unconventional offerings. Go for the chicken and lamb hearts or, for seafood lovers, the spicy squid. The wait staff here is knowledgeable, with the majority of them hailing directly from Northern China, and the food is thoughtful. The wonderful chewy noodles, all made in-house, come with long lily, sweet potato noodles, cilantro and seaweed. It’s not only the complex ingredient list that makes the dishes here delicious. The broth is stewed for 10 hours with lamb, chicken and beef bones before it’s served.

Though the establishment has been open for just a few months, it's the intricacy of the broth at Sweethome Grill that caught our attention.
