Description
An oasis of beautiful gardens and beautiful views, Swede Hollow, the coffee shop, sits on a hill on the east side of St. Paul and offers many, many joys to those who venture into this undeservedly overlooked part of town. First among the joys is the view: Seen from the eastern slopes, St. Paul looks imposing and regal, like Boston made lonesome by the back-lighting of the west-setting sun. Second are the well-planted gardens that surround the stepped brick patios. Third among the pleasures, but not last, are the excellent house-made desserts, the gratifying caramel rolls, the good sandwiches, and lovely soups.
