The interior of Sushi Uokura incongruously recalls the most casual of beach houses, and the sushi is excellent, without an ounce of the precious pretension that's befallen so many Denver favorites. The eatery offers all-you-can-eat sushi and simple rice bowls at lunchtime and a more elaborate spread and selection at dinner -- but it's all very sensibly priced and quickly served in a comfortable, simple setting. Located in Golden, conveniently within walking distance of several large car dealerships, it's a welcome haven from the sheer drudgery of haggling through "low, no-haggle prices," test-driving and penny-pinching. When you've finally hammered out an automotive deal, Sushi Uokura will be happy to pour you some premium sake. By that time, you'll have earned it.
