This South Beach-style Japanese restaurant is tucked away in a North Miami Beach strip mall. A vaulted ceiling, white drapes, and crystal chandeliers greet diners, who may sit at tables, booths, the bar, or the sushi bar. The food is good although slightly pricey. We recommend the spicy tuna tower ($19), composed of fish stacked with avocado and black tobiko and then topped with teriyaki-marinated shiitake mushrooms, garlic sauce, and sweet wasabi sauce. Also of note is the white dragon roll ($15): spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, and avocado topped with spicy scallops. The crispy whole red snapper (market price) is executive chef Sam Spence's favorite dish. Sushi House also serves creative drinks such as the cucumber fizz martini and a wide selection of mojitos. Service is friendly and quick. The restaurant, which unexpectedly brings eclectic Asian fusion cuisine and chic décor to a quiet strip mall, is a great neighborhood hangout.
Enjoy a variety of drinks at 2-4-1, $5 beers, sake, & wines, and food specials ranging from $4-$8.
