It's almost always guaranteed to be buzzing at Supper, regardless of what night it is. Frank Prisinzano, the man who also owns popular nearby pizza place Lil¹ Frankie's and tiny East Village Radio, ensures good times with communal tables and crowd-pleasing Italian fare. The focus is on northern Italy; traditional pasta and meat dishes, often accented with imported Italian ingredients, share space with more innovative creations. Daily risotto specials, varying from pancetta to seafood, are available with daily dinner specials, including rabbit with polenta on Saturdays and osso buco on Sundays. The wine list is epic, consisting solely of Italian wines (save for one Napa Valley wine sent to Frank from Francis Ford Coppola), reds and whites available by the glass, half-bottle and bottle. Red brick, chandeliers and specials scrawled across the blackboard give the place a warm, cozy vibe, while the crowd waiting on the sidewalk and packed tables fill the place with noise and energy.—Keith Wagstaff
