Technically you could put Sunny Grill in the quick-casual category, since it’s both quick and casual -- making it an excellent go-to in Mar Vista for lunch or dinner on the run. What it lacks, happily, is that mass-produced, assembly-line feel. It's an independent spot with food that's made to order, and the menu is full of good-for-you stuff. There's a salmon burger, hearty salads and lots of vegetable-based options. But don’t worry: there are also fried onion rings and fried zucchini, BLTs and even milkshakes, for the days when you feel like having something sans sprouts. Make it a combo with fries and a soda one day, then go back for a garden burger the next. That’s easy to do considering Sunny Grill boasts perhaps the most sought-after amenity in L.A. -- a drive-thru! All that deliciousness, and you don't even have to get out of the car. Priceless.
