Sunday Brunch at Scarpetta 

When our favorite arched fast-food restaurant introduced the savory and sweet McGriddle, our taste buds trembled in delight. Sausage and egg thrown between two syrup-injected pancakes sounded like our kind of meal. The 11 a.m. breakfast cut-off, not so much. We’ll let early birds have the drive-thru, and you can find us at Scarpetta having Sunday brunch with a fabulous beach view. Located inside the trendy and chic Fontainebleau, the place would seem to require a jacket, tie, and cummerbund for anyone to step foot inside, but scarpetta is Italian slang for the act of picking up a piece of bread and sopping up the juices on your plate, so this is totally a joint that will love you for you. Well, a slightly dolled-up you, anyway. Each Sunday, superstar chef Scott Conant cooks up a buffet of seasonally inspired dishes, such as his famously rich and creamy polenta with fricassee of truffled mushrooms, and scrambled eggs with pancetta and provolone. If you still have room after noshing on fresh pastries, antipasto, and Italian meats and cheeses, choose from a roster of second-course dishes best served with the never-ending bloody marys and Bellinis.
