Just looking at the apornographya section of their websiteaagratuitouslya large close-up shots of their bread, pizzas, and sweetsayou run the risk of drooling over your keyboard. But simply lusting after pictures of the perfectly formed air bubbles inside the pane integrale is nothing compared to a visit to the shop, where you will see, smell, and taste many top chefsa favorites for their tables. (Many gourmet stores carry their products as well.) The typical Italian artisanal loaves have thick, robust crusts and chewy or airy insides, like the pane Pugliese.

    One of the latest products to appear at Sullivan Street Bakery - which isn't located on Sullivan Street anymore, but in Hell's Kitchen - is bombolini: sugary spheroids filled with luscious, yolky custard. They don't have a hole, so don't you dare call them doughnuts (but, really, what's the diff?).
