Each staff member will address you by name. When you ask where the restrooms are, a server won't just point the way; she'll happily walk you there. Leave a crumpled napkin on your chair, and you'll return to find it has been replaced with a neatly folded one on the table. On the food front, Craig Strong will cook a chef's tasting meal that completes the experience, one that will match the extravagant cost. But if we haven't mentioned the prices until now, it's because they're almost beside the point. But with the food, the atmosphere and, most of all, the service, your visit will be worth every cent.

The Studio - absolute perfection Laguna is a place I won’t share with many (just one person, actually). It’s one of my favorite places on the planet and it is swarming with delectable fare. One Saturday night, brisk air seeping through my skin and into my bones, I stepped down some stairs, watched a floating moon made of Christmas lights, and entered into a world of sensuality and culinary treats. Greeted by the Chef himself (Craig), it was an experience to remember. Seated at the “Community Table” (A table anyone can sit at and dine together), I ordered from the Chef’s Tasting Menu, which included such tasty goodness as Hamachi Sashimi, Duck Confit Empanadas, Morbier, and a delectable variety of desserts. My palette and stomach were in ecstasy. Couple that with Toshina, the most incredible bartender ever, who makes insatiable beverages that can transcend you and you have struck the jackpot of fine fare. The Pacific never tasted - or felt - so good.
They never say "sir" or "madam." Instead it's Mr. or Ms. [insert your surname here]. What's more, the servers at Studio Restaurant remember to use it throughout the night. Ask where the restrooms are, and they'll not just point you the way, but they'll also escort you there. When you come back to your table, your crumpled napkin has been folded neatly. If you're part of a large party, each plate served gets its own attendant, who will put the food in... More »
