Riverfront Times' Description

St. Louisans will recognize that classic Tropicana Lanes sign in Richmond Heights from a mile away. For more than 50 years, the retro landmark in its neon glory has directed bowlers young and old to the center of fun and entertainment. With two sides holding 52 lanes, a game room and an all-ages appeal -- big kids can hang in the bar-lounge -- Tropicana serves a destination for "the Dude" and just regular dudes alike. Join a league, host a birthday party or just show up to put on some silly shoes. At Tropicana, the kicks are always clean and the drinks are always cold.

Merchant's Description

Our large sign has been a landmark on Clayton Road for more than fifty years. During those that half-century, three generations of Richmond Heights residents have enjoyed the facilities, from bowling to playing pool, going to a wedding reception, or enjoying dinner and brew in the lounge.

Tropicana has brought national attention to St. Louis by hosting the Professional Bowlers Tour, which is nationally televised.

Smoking is not permitted in the bowling area, but is allowed in the cocktail lounge.

Located on Clayton Road, adjacent to the St. Louis Galleria Shopping Center.
