Description

Riverfront Times' Description

The Blue Note used to be a movie theater, and it feels like it, with plenty of floor space, a high-set stage, and tiered seating for the less physical in the crowd. Its reputation is the thing of music myth, and the storied stage continues to draw big names that would rather play a guaranteed college crowd than take their chances in St. Louis. It's a haul, but at the end of the night, the Blue Note is more than worth the drive.

This is my favorite concert venue. It's small and quaint (GA floor plus a little balcony), but great acts come here all the time!

You can catch big-name acts or small, indie, never-heard-of-em bands here. Small-ish, dark, and very cool, I miss this place a lot.

A great place to check out live bands in Columbia. Third Eye Blind, Matt Nathanson, Pat Green, and Taking Back Sunday have all played here, just to name a few.

Tips from foursquare

Excellent line up, bringing a lot of upcoming and big time performances to mid-Missouri. Cultural institution in Columbia for sure, not to mention an awesome music venue.

Skip the line and go to the bar upstairs in the back. And remember to tip your bartenders.

  • Dylan N. on 06/03/11

The PBR isn't better here. That's silly.

  • Leslie M. on 08/09/10

Best place for live music in mid-Mo!

  • Lyle J. on 02/25/10

Try the PBR. It's excellent here.
