Description

Riverfront Times' Description

Built within the bounds of Fusz Hall on Saint Louis University’s campus, the Museum of Contemporary Religious Art offers a multicultural art experience. Over its twenty years in activity, MOCRA has hosted centerpieces like Andy Warhol’s “Silver Clouds” and an inflatable Buddha courtesy of Lewis DeSoto. MOCRA’s exhibits are accompanied by tours and lectures. Consider it spiritual and religious education with an inclusive and welcoming environment.

Merchant's Description

Saint Louis University's Museum of Contemporary Religious Art (MOCRA) is the world's first interfaith museum of contemporary art that engages religious and spiritual themes. MOCRA is dedicated to the ongoing dialogue between contemporary artists and the world's faith traditions, and to serving as a forum for interfaith understanding. In a time when religion is viewed by many in exclusive ways, MOCRA intends to be inclusive and embracing, a center for healing and reconciliation.
