Riverfront Times's Description
Saffron might not differ much from the standard Indian-restaurant template, but it still affords all the pleasures of a complex cuisine prepared well. Standout dishes include the chef's "signature" biryani: lamb, chicken and vegetables with saffron rice and a blend of spices both comfortingly familiar and alluringly exotic. The kitchen handles lamb very well, whether subtle (lamb rogan josh) or fiery (lamb vindaloo). Vegetarian dishes include creamy palak paneer (spinach with homemade cheese) and a mash of roasted eggplant known as baingan bhartha. The lunch buffet lets you sample more than a few classic Indian dishes, and -- a nice touch -- each table receives its own serving of freshly baked naan.
Tips from foursquare
Saffron's lunch buffet isn't as large as some others but has several less commonly found items. Spicing is bold, and a lengthy vegetarian selection is on the à la carte menu.
Good Indian food ! Everything that we ordered, from the starters to the naan to the noodles was delicious! No complaints! The flavor was good and authentic! Must try ! Service was really fast as well!
I love how they give your table a basket of fresh naan for lunch. No need to speed walk against a stranger for the last piece at the buffet line.
I keep trying closer Indian restaurants to my home, but I always come back to Saffron despite the added drive time. Just a fantastic meal every time.
Food is okay buffet could use more of a selection.
