Description

Riverfront Times' Description

It's difficult to think of Dogtown without Pat's Bar and Grill coming to mind. Opened in 1942 by Pat Connolly, then a recent immigrant from Galway County, Ireland, the eponymous pub is the canvas on which much of the neighborhood's green, white and orange history was painted. Over the decades, the venerable bar-and-grill has mastered the classic Irish pub formula: a down-to-earth atmosphere, friendly service, cold Guinness on tap and a solid menu, which includes not only a number of traditional Irish meat-and-potatoes entrees but also a smorgasbord of deep-fried fare. The chicken wings are arguably the best in Saint Louis, which might be evidenced by the fact that an entire roll of paper towels is supplied with each order.

Love Pat's! They have a great breakfast and one of the earliest happy hours in town - 8:30 am! Pat's is also a hot spot for The Dogtown St. Pat's parade. If you are ever looking to rent out a space for a private party - pat's 2nd level, called "The Roost" is a perfect, cheap, spot!

Host a party at the Roost, and you rule. The second floor of Dogtown watering hole Pat's Bar and Grill, the room is equipped with a pool table, Golden Tee, darts, Internet-linked jukebox, television sets and its own bar. Rent the whole place, bartender included, for $200, and it's yours for the night. You can bring your own decorations and your own cake. Hell, bring your own... More >>

Try the "Blue Molly," a colorful cocktail (with a straw!) made with raspberry vodka, sweet and sour, and Sprite. http://bit.ly/17qLMvj

If you like the fried chicken, ask for the spicy breading. A lot better than the regular.

Toasted raviolis are some of the best in town. Also, the chicken sandwiches are huge! If you want to go buffalo for the chicken sandwich I'd suggest getting the sauce on the side; it's wicked hot.
