Description

Riverfront Times' Description

From the owners of Local Harvest Grocery comes a coffeehouse/restaurant with a twist. On Saturday nights chef Clara Moore offers a four-course tasting menu drawn from her shopping expedition that day. (Reservations are required.) You won't know the details till you arrive, but you can expect delicious preparations of fresh, local meat and produce. The regular menu includes soups, salads and sandwiches - the vegan chili is especially good - and a brief dinner selection. Breakfast includes pastries, parfaits and bagel sandwiches.

Avoid the French toast stuffed with cream cheese and nuts. It is an unnecessary rendering that ruins a classic. The consistency and texture of the concoction destroys any semblance of the delicate balance between the crisp exterior of French toast and its rich custardy center.

Local Harvest is a nice little cafe offering great food from local farmers - plus the Local Harvest Grocery Store is just down the street! Both located on the exciting street of Morganford.

Love Local Harvest. Go for brunch on the weekend before 2pm and get the vegetarian slinger.

  • Kimberly H. on 07/10/10

Everything is great, but don't miss the chorizo pot pie on their brunch menu. It's amazing!

  • Go! Magazine on 04/25/13

Try the baseball-size meatball, formed from grass-fed local beef, filled with creamy ginger ricotta and topped with a fried egg. (Evan S. Benn)

  • Brett R. on 03/09/11

It is impossible to get bad food here. Even their dumpster if full of gourmet cuisine.

  • Abby H. on 02/05/11

Great food... Any breakfast sandwich is awesome
