Riverfront Times' Description
Simply put: La Pizza offers some of the best pizza you'll ever sink your teeth into. Everything in this small restaurant is house-made, from the meatballs to the lasagna noodles. The pizza dough is fluffy, crisp and hand-tossed. The mozzarella is 100 percent whole-milk cheese -- which means no oil dripping down your arm here. The owners are alums of Bob's Seafood, so you can top your pie with lobster, crab, shrimp and even salmon -- call ahead, though. Or try stromboli, calzone, a sausage roll or a hero sandwich made with fresh bread. The place has only four tables, but it's worth hanging around to watch the kitchen in action.
Tips from foursquare
The plain pie is better "New York pizza" than 99% of New York City pizza places.
Fantastic New York Style Pizza and really great personal service from Poli and Poli, These guys get to know you. Love the crunch of the crust.
Fantastic pizza! I tried the Deluxe Veggie and the spinach was awesome.
This is probably one of the best NY style pizzas to be had outside of NY, and this is coming from someone who lived there for 10 years.
I've been going here since they opened in 2003. It's not only the best pizza in St. Louis, but the service, prices, and ingredients cannot be beat.
