Description

Riverfront Times' Description

The "World Famous Dooley Burger" is six ounces of fresh ground beef pattied to a fairly even thickness and grilled to your preferred temperature -- and it is pretty amazing. The original Dooley's, a downtown institution, closed its doors in 2008. Three years later, Sean Dooley, son of founder Alex Dooley, pulled a reincarnation. The new place is equipped with the old Dooley's grill, so all that built-in greasy flavor remains. The onion rings are also excellent, and of course pair perfectly with a burger. The menu does offer non-burger options, and you could easily order a chicken sandwich. Or you could, you know, be a rational person and order the "Big Pappy" (featuring cheddar, bacon, grilled pineapple rings, fried onion rings and barbecue sauce from nearby Pappy's Smokehouse). Yeah, do that one.

Lots of beers; try a Schlafly Oktoberfest. For late-night grub, order a Hooligan burger, topped with a fried egg. And closing time seems to fluctuate, so call before you go. (Gabe Hartwig)

Terrible service. Waited 40 minutes for my friend's beer. No apology. No make-good. No checking in. Avoiding in the future.

Holy shit where is the exhaust fan in here?! Bring gas masks

The Dooleyburger ($6.50 plus 50 cents per topping) is as good as ever, topped with Port wine cheese and a nest of sautéed onions wedged between the burger and a sesame-topped bun. (Joe Bonwich)

A great addition to Grand Center... any burger is a great burger at Dooley's!
