Description

What began as a more formal steakhouse has morphed into an American grill with a preppie-casual feel. A lively patio bar is where the locals choose to eat in good weather, or to watch a game while noshing from the bar menu. Indoors, the dining room has padded booths and tables, with the jewel seating being in "the cave," a table set inside the wine room a la California's wine tasting areas. For parties of 16 or fewer, it's a unique setting. A mix of cuisines - some Asian and Mexican appetizers, numerous salads, burgers and the signature oak wood roasted chicken sit beside the steaks, chops and seafood menu. Homey dishes like Southern fried chicken, chicken pot pie, veal meat loaf, beef brisket with latkes and braised pot roast are on the entrée menu. Filets, two-bone pork chop, roasted prime rib, rib-eye and a New York strip are charred over the wood fires. A solid wine list and craft beers are here, and friendly servers aim to please. Prices are modest compared to most in the area. A piano player or jazz guitarist entertains.
