From the outside, Spitzer's has the look of any L.E.S. dive: chunks of concrete, exposed brick, loud and nomadic partiers hopping in and out. Inside, though, lies a beer bar and gastropub with 40 beers on tap, including both essentials (Lagunitas IPA, Captain Lawrence Liquid Gold) and still-delightful non-essentials such as the nine-percent-alcohol Belgian pale ale Delirium Tremens. ("You will see pink elephants after more than two glasses," reads its description.) These beverages are consumed atop communal wooden benches under dimmed, wok-sized metal lights. And of course, there's pig-centric gastropub fare aplenty. Pork Fat Edamame, anyone?

they have so many beers here!
Randomly found this place and was blown away the first time I was there. They easily have 40 beers on tap, some that are not easily found. Being a person who doesn't understand how your average person can order a Budweiser when America is one of the best brew countries in the world, I really appreciate that. The food itself is amazing for a bar. I almost bit off my finger when I tried the Mac & Cheese. The Brussel Sprouts are also amazing. Yes Brussel Sprouts! The Fois Gras is top notch and just about anything else I tried there was a delightful surprise. This place is a gem in a city of wanna-bees!
