Description

Sure, Spanish Flower offers south-of-the-border atmosphere and Tex-Mex cuisine, but the most enticing element of this Heights-area eatery is that it serves cheesy comfort food 24/7. Favorites include chicken enchiladas in a tangy tomatillo sauce and fish tacos with a chile serrano sauce, all sided with homemade tortillas. There's also a complete breakfast menu ready round the clock.

My fiance and I went to a late lunch yesterday at Spanish Flowers. It is adorable and very clean. The service was good and the food was good. I really loved the atmosphere. So much so I'd love to have our little wedding there. We are going to check into it :))))) This is a great place and will now be a new family tradition for my love and I.

    Do You Smoke?

One taste of the smoked catfish ($10.75) at Spanish Flowers (4701 North Main, 713-869-1706), and you'll know you're tasting something very special. The smoke flavor permeates the tender catfish, so much so that you'll swear you're eating a finer... More »

Spanish Flower Mexican Restaurant (4701 North Main, 713-869-1706) may have made its reputation with its fresh homemade flour tortillas, but you can't live by unleavened bread alone (though, God knows, we'd like to try). Meat lovers should flock... More »

  • 2009 | Best Late-Night Restaurant

Often, late-night dining comes down to sheer convenience: Where can you find a place that's open at 3 a.m. to head that hangover off at the pass or keep you going as you pull an all-nighter? And more often than not, convenience completely trumps taste. At Spanish Flowers, however, neither is sacrificed. Spanish Flowers is that rare late-night restaurant where patrons also line up for food during the day. Open 24 hours, the place serves consistently delicious food no matter when you drag... More »

  • 2007 | Best Late-Night Restaurant

Generally speaking, anyone out at 4:30 a.m. is up to no good. Be they druggie, thief, insomniac or just seriously craving some queso, night owls can direct themselves to this eclectic Heights establishment. Spanish Flowers dishes up authentic Mexican cuisine for an impressively affordable price. Sure, it's no Taco Bell, but as everyone knows, coke hangovers and fast food do not mix well when you've been running from the cops all night in a stolen Ford Focus. Do yourself a favor and make a... • 2005 | Best Nachos

When some folks think of nachos, they think of the plastic tub full of Tostitos and Cheez Whiz served up at places like Minute Maid Park. But to merely place cheese on a chip is practically a crime; those fried little tortillas can hold so much more. The Spanish Flowers nachos take top billing at this all-night haunt on the northern edge of the Heights. Each chip is laid out and individually topped with beans, cheese, ground beef and bacon -- yes, real chunks of thick, smoked bacon, some of... More »

Wander in around 3 a.m. You'll see barhoppers getting that fatty high-protein burrito fix necessary to whittling away the effects of too many martinis. You'll find artists taking a break from their creative woes, seeking solace in perfectly spiced mole enchiladas. You'll find a table of police officers enjoying a moment to socialize with their comrades over coffee and... More »
