After running Tarantula Billiards for close to a decade, Ami Benair opened the hipper, classier ZanZBar in the Ballpark neighborhood near the end of 2009, in the former Market Central space. former resident of Manhattan, Benair gave the pool hall/bar/restaurant a New York vibe, complete with a giant replica of the Statue of Liberty's crown. But a few years into ZanZBar's run, business started going south, and in December 2012, Jon Taffer and Spike TV's Bar Rescue crew revamped and updated the venue, redid the food and drink menus, and changed the moniker to & Stripes Badass Billiards.
