Sporting both Persian and Cajun dishes on its broadly global menu, Solea offers a little something for everybody. This extends to its nightly live music selection — which often features one of its owners, Amin Safari, playing his own flamenco music — and its broad wine, beer and spirits list, heavy on Texas products. Standards such as truffle fries and meatloaf are as reliably good as more eccentric dishes, like the Natchitoches meat pies or the goat cheese-stuffed dates with pistachios (both of which make great bar snacks).
