If you wanted to put a label on it, Phoenix’s vintage tiki bar Bikini Lounge could be called many things. Some would deem it a hipster paradise, while others might call it a classic dive. Combine both of those labels and one thing you won't get as a result is the descriptor “cute.”
Sure the plush Spongebob and giant portrait of a hula dancer might lead you to think otherwise, but the crowd the bar draws is a strange combo of music lovers and professional drinkers. That is, until Borisimo and his Cutie Pies start to spin during So Tough! So Cute! The weekly dance night brings a light atmosphere to the bar, blending cute young faces with tough ‘n’ trashy rock n’ roll. Add to the concoction some indie pop, soul and garage rock sounds and you have a recipe for a drinky and dancey good time.
