This funky taco shack is a prime destination for East Village boozehounds looking for a cheap and tasty snack in the middle of bar-hopping. Walk up to the streetside window under the bright yellow awning; inside a lone employee will probably be listening to something hip while preparing Mexican food with a stoner edge. The Nacharito piles black beans, salsa, sour cream, cilantro and melted cheese on a crisp tostada, while the Johnny Boy simply doubles your portion for a few extra bucks. Tacos match the same ingredients with grilled steak, sole or chicken on a soft corn tortilla. If the barstools on the sidewalk are taken, you can always cram inside, where a small counter seats four. The string lights dangling overhead, artwork and quirky bric-a-brac only heighten the effects of whatever intoxicant you are on that night.
