Description

This Ballard BBQ is praised more for its dirty rice, house-baked pies, and sandwiches than for its brisket and ribs. Eric Reinhardt's résumé includes Serafina and Adriatica, and Julie Reinhardt is the author of She-Smoke. And while Smokin' Pete's uses Painted Hills meats, their style is lean on the fat and light on the smoke. Try the pulled-pork sandwich, dousing the meat in the spicy, none-too-sweet sauce. The strawberry-rhubarb or pecan pie may just justify your trip.
